Of course, not everyone is sprinting to the altar. Chris Hughes, a founder of Facebook and executive director of Jumo, and Sean Eldridge, the political director of Freedom to Marry, are sticking to their wedding date next June. No doubt the weekend of lavish festivities, including a rehearsal dinner at Per Se, an intimate wedding at the couple’s home in Garrison, N.Y., and a reception that evening at Cipriani Wall Street — orchestrated by Bryan Rafanelli, who also planned Chelsea Clinton’s wedding — would have been hard to switch. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Mr. Hughes, who proposed to Mr. Eldridge on bended knee while on vacation in Thailand last New Year’s Eve.
