This is not a remake.
You won't have Mars in it, and mutants, and especially that mutant guy crawling out from the stomach, and you won't have a leading hero.

But you will have a badass Kate Beckinsale who kicks ass and looks more badass'ery than Sharon Stone did.
Kolin Farrell' character is the guy who keeps frowning at everything throughout the whole movie.
Jessica Biel was okay, but for a chick-flick movie, she wasn't active enough. In original this character was way more tougher.
She does bring something remotely action'y to the table only when she fights with Kate's character. My femslash senses were tingling.

After ending titles scrolling down and me finding out that Len Wiseman was directing this movie, I was not surprised that his wife looks like a leading character in it. And let me tell you, Kate does it for the movie, she is the charismatic part of it, ans she is a sight for sore eyes. Guess, that was the plan.

For me, it was a movie to lust over Kate. But it is not Total Recall.

Joss Whedon to write, direct 'Avengers' sequel!

Disney chief Bob Iger announced during an earnings call with analysts that Joss Whedon will write and direct "The Avengers 2" and develop a live action Marvel-themed TV show for ABC.

"Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015," Disney said in a statement. "As part of that deal, Whedon will write and direct Marvel's The Avengers 2 as well as help develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel's cinematic universe."

Move comes after Whedon's "The Avengers" has earned nearly $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office and generated strong sales of "Avengers" merchandise. Its $616.8 million domestic haul makes it the third-highest-grossing film of all time, trailing "Avatar" and "Titanic."
